Caron Pescatore is British by birth, Jamaican by heritage, and American by naturalization. She spent most of her childhood in Jamaica before migrating to the United States in her late teens.
After practicing as a registered nurse for many years, Caron switched professions and pursued a career in law. After obtaining her J.D. in 2001, she worked as a public defender for the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office and then as a deputy district attorney for that same county.
With the birth of her first child, she left the profession to become a stay-at-home mom, her most challenging career to date! Caron is passionate about truth, justice, and fair dealing for all, a sentiment that led, in part, to her decision to write the Kids' Court series. Kids' Court is an innovative courtroom mystery series that not only entertains children but also educates them about the different jobs in law and gives them an inside look at how courts work.
Caron's favorite pastimes are reading, adult coloring, solving puzzles, and watching true crime and detective shows, both of which help to satisfy her love of solving mysteries. Currently, Caron lives in South Florida with her husband and two children.

The kids' court comes to the rescue in The Doll Dilemma: A Kids' Court Whodunit by Caron Pescatore. This book is ideal for school-age children because it will educate them on problem-solving, stimulate cognitive abilities, and improve their conflict resolution skills. When Luana Porcello heard her twin neighbors Jimmy and Jenny argue, she felt she needed to take action to get to the bottom of things. She had always aspired to become an attorney like both of her parents, so she decided to embark on a journey by creating a kids' court to get the answers to this dastardly deed.
In reading The Doll Dilemma by Caron Pescatore, I was inspired by this story and I'm sure that children of different ages will be as well. It was refreshing to introduce Perry Mason (who is also one of my favorite TV attorneys) to a new generation. Children will watch how Luana can cleverly put the puzzle together and solve the crime like Lieutenant Columbo. Your child can learn a lot by reading this book and understanding the court proceedings process. It was exciting how the neighborhood kids came together, learned the terminology, and played their parts to help solve the case. I'm sure that your child will be encouraged to learn more and possibly create their own Kids' Court to solve cases. If you love this book, look out for the next Kids' Court WhodunIt, Go Kartastrophe, by this author. Highly recommended. Enjoy!
