The book, The Devil You Know, The Devil DeVere Book 3, continues the saga with Lord DeVere, a ruthless and confirmed bachelor. Ludovic is known among his peers and friends as a man who makes his own rules, flaunting convention. In this installment, the readers find Lord DeVere on the brink of asking for the hand of Lady Caroline, but fate has its way and she is tempted by a dukedom, leaving Ludovic single and cynical once more about ladies remaining faithful in marriage. Years later, he is lustfully tempted by his best friend’s wife’s cousin, Lady Diana. She is wed to a gamester in a loveless and unhappy marriage. She is resigned to her fate until she meets Lord DeVere at his country estate. Passions mount as these two fight their undeniable chemistry for one another.
Author Victoria Vane is a strong romance writer, filling her multitude of installments with the same characters that readers have come to know and like. Although her series is short, it’s the perfect length and content to capture your attention –- you can finish reading in one short afternoon. Her book is filled with everything that romance readers love and have come to expect -– passion, steamy love scenes, and eroticism that make your summer days even hotter and steamier. Even though her books are shorter than most romance books, they have interesting characters with a plot line that leaves you wanting more of Vane’s content. Great reading does come in small packaging.
