Many black men feel isolated in society. Even if they work hard and achieve the best things in life (a family, a great job, and success), the sense of solitude accompanies them nonetheless. If you are a black man who wants to improve his life, then you have found the book that will guide you through this process. Coach Michael Taylor's The Cure for Onlyness is an informative book that explains the reasons why you are unhappy and how you can have a better mindset. In ten engaging chapters, Taylor fights stereotypes about black men and helps his readers find out who they are. To do this, he explains how to overcome traumas, redefines masculinity, and touches on love, health, wealth, and spirituality.
This quick overview does not cover all the topics in The Cure for Onlyness. However, it is enough to help readers understand the treasure they will find here. I have read many motivational books in my life, but this one stands out for its in-depth analysis and simple language. I especially like that Taylor explains how the brain works and how it is different from the concept of "mind." After reading The Cure for Onlyness, you will reach a level of awareness that you probably did not have before. Taylor also gives enlightening examples, including events from his own life. These parts, as always with real-life experiences, are valuable and invite further reflection. The Cure for Onlyness is an excellent read for black men who want to become better persons. Also, for its intrinsic value, it is an outstanding piece of writing.
