"The Bipolar Workshop" is a wonderful book written by Terri Callsen to help those unfamiliar with the behavior of Bipolars understand and work their way through an unpleasant situation caused by behavioral disruption. Interesting episodes written about real-life situations help the reader, whether he or she is a student, a concerned relative or someone suffering from the disorder, understand what he or she is going through and how to deal with their emotions. The path of learning that Larry, Sally, Joanna and Peter embark on to learn about themselves and rise above their obstacles is very inspirational!
"The Workshop" is a book of facts written in a simple, direct, explanatory style to acquaint readers with the symptoms of the disorder. The book is very well-laid-out, with each chapter devoted to one topic of study - an introduction to Bipolar Disorder, common symptoms, identifying the disorder in a friend or relative and finally excerpts from the lives of affected individuals, their struggles, their fears and, most importantly, their path to recovery. Given that the author herself has enrolled and completed a number of courses and workshops, the information provided to readers is a trove of useful facts, coping mechanisms and insights into the thought process of one afflicted with Bipolar Disorder. A very useful read for educational, medical and self awareness processes. I loved the tips for understanding and improving one's interactions with the world and ways to improve relationships. Thank you Terri Callsen for an extremely interesting and useful read!
