The Big Book of Baby Bible Names by Tyra Buburuz is a great reference point for parents looking for a name for their newborn. It borrows some of its content from Hitchcock's Bible Names Dictionary written in 1869 by Roswell D. Hitchcock. Arranged in alphabetical order, The Big Book of Baby Bible Names is very resourceful and contains scriptures where the names first appear or are referenced, over and above listing the names and their meanings. The book also specifies the number of times a particular name is found either in the Old or New Testament. Tyra Buburuz is definitely knowledgeable on the material the book covers as the book is comprehensive and well-written.
Even though the book is primarily written for parents interested in giving their children biblical names, the book can be used to trace where different biblical figures can be found in the Bible. The Big Book of Baby Bible Names is very well organized and contains only relevant information that pertains to the purpose of the book. I also found the list of Bible Book abbreviations quite helpful. With more than 2,500 names to choose from, any parent will be spoilt for choice. It is clear that Tyra Buburuz does a great job of researching her material. The cover of the book is also enticing and caught my attention even before I read the content. Overall, The Big Book of Baby Bible Names by Tyra Buburuz is enlightening, informative and useful.
