The aim of the book is to provide readers with awareness, a clearer understanding, and knowledge of the author's experience in her journey as a stepmother and reassure them that they are not alone. The author's personal story will give hope, courage, and strength to many readers out there to work towards building a healthy and constructive relationship with their stepchildren.

Wagner is straightforward and honest and the author shares her personal moments with her stepchildren so that readers are able to examine their commitment as a stepmother and feel rejuvenated.
