The Art of Balance: Staying Sane in an Insane World by David J. Bookbinder is an interesting guide that shows readers how to stay balanced. The book gives tips and techniques on how to recognize when you know your balance is shaky, to boost emotional resilience and stay steady on your feet, how to fend off unbalancers if they strike, and a six-step process for recovering and maintaining life balance. The characters in the book, Al and Alice, Unbalancer, Balancer, and Rebalancer, will guide readers on their personal path to staying sane in this insane world. The book also covers topics like how to stay centered when life hits hard and how to tackle chronic stress. The author’s experiences both as a person and a therapist will guide readers on their unique journey.
The methods in the book are simple and will help readers to become more insightful, more resilient to stress, and open to choices that will bring them happiness. The self-help tools, strategies, and techniques can be used to help readers become masters of their own destinies. The idea of having characters assist readers in understanding the concepts is an excellent thought and will guide them to have a better purpose and sense of direction. I found the book useful in evaluating myself and seeing where I can make necessary changes and improve situations to put things back on track. Likewise, I am sure this book will enable readers to rediscover themselves and help them when they are at a crossroads. The illustrations make the book entertaining. It is definitely a great read for all those struggling with emotional challenges and for those wanting to move forward.
