If you’ve ever looked at a project you’ve completed and been unable to call it ‘amazing’ until someone else told you it was or you’ve never been able to give yourself a compliment until someone else does it first then you may need this book. The Approval Fix by Joyce Meyer is for anyone who has ever felt insecure in themselves. By trusting in God and believing in what He wants for each of us, it is possible to overcome these feelings of inadequacy. But it’s going to require not just accepting God (though that’s a big part of it) but also understanding what you really have to offer the world - whether it’s the entire world or only your little part in it. The Approval Fix will definitely help you look at your life and yourself a little differently and maybe that’s a good thing.
I have always been the type of person who needs the approval of others. I have never been able to simply be happy with what I'm able to accomplish on my own and feel that I always have to do better. When I don’t feel that others are happy with my work it makes me withdraw and try to do better or more. This book really touched home with me and I finally understand how I can help myself to relax and feel more comfortable with who I am. It’s all about understanding God and understanding your place in the world God has created; that’s what The Approval Fix helped me to see.
