Mary Ellen Bramwell has been writing stories since she was ten years old. After working in other fields and raising five children as a stay-at-home mom, Mary Ellen has returned to her first love, writing. The Apple of My Eye is her debut novel. It is soon to be followed by When I Was Seven. Mary Ellen was recently recognized with an Honorable Mention in the 84th Annual Writer's Digest Writing Competition. She resides in Northeast Ohio with her husband, Allen, and her two youngest children.

It's every spouse's worst nightmare to be awakened in the middle of the night and told that your loved one is dead. And to find that they've been murdered, well, that just adds another level of grief to the equation. That's exactly the scenario the reader finds in The Apple of My Eye by debut author Mary Ellen Bramwell. Follow the story of Brea Cass, a woman living a lovely life until her husband is killed in a convenience store robbery. After her grief lifts a bit, she is able to look at the situation more critically. Why was Paul, her husband, at the convenience store at all? He had no reason to be there. The more deeply she looks into her husband's death, the more she realizes that something is amiss. And is it possible that the 'something' might have been Paul himself? Did she truly know the man she married?
I very much enjoyed The Apple of My Eye. It pulled me in from the start and kept me turning the pages long past the time I should have been asleep. It's difficult to believe that Mary Ellen Bramwell is a first-time novelist. Her skills in developing characters that will stay with the reader long after the book is done are second to none. Her ability to develop scenes and scenarios is so good that you will feel as if you are there, standing next to Brea as things are happening. Any reader who loves good fiction, mysteries, or even romance would enjoy The Apple of My Eye. I recommend this book highly, and look forward to seeing what this very promising author, Mary Ellen Bramwell, has in store for her readers. Loved the cover! Great book!
