Wow! Have you ever read a book and really, really wanted to meet the author, simply because you'd love to find out exactly how their mind works? Well, that's definitely how I felt when I read The Anesthesia Game, the new work by author Rea Nolan Martin. Follow the story of teenaged Sydney, her mother, Mitsy, Aunt Hannah and her mother's psychic, Pandora, as they are dealing with Sydney's life-threatening disease. While Sydney has to undergo actual anesthesia to deal with her disease, each of the other women also take an 'anesthesia' of their own, although that anesthesia might be in the form of drugs, alcohol or their religious beliefs. Between all of them, they are struggling to find a way out of their own issues, and to especially get Sydney through her critical illness. Will they be able to do it? You'll need to read The Anesthesia Game to find out!
I so enjoyed this book. Author Rea Nolan Martin is a truly creative and visionary author, and I have to say, this storyline is unlike any other that I have found before. Coming from a person that does a lot of reading, this is truly a great find! Author Martin's character development, scene setting abilities and just plain excellent storytelling abilities make her work second to none! Any reader who enjoys creative fiction, stories with strong and interesting female characters, or just a great read would love The Anesthesia Game. I highly recommend this book, and I am very much looking forward to seeing what author Rea Nolan Martin has in store for her readers next. If it's anything like The Anesthesia Game, it will definitely be a book I won't want to miss!
