The Amish Seamstress, Book Four in The Women of Lancaster County series, written by Mindy Starns Clark and Leslie Gould, is a well-written stand-alone novel. However the rest of the series is great as well. Izzy does not really fit in anywhere, not with her family, and not in her Amish community. The only person Izzy seems to connect with is Zed. However Zed is part of a different world, specifically a Mennonite community and has dreams that will take him far away from Izzy. Izzy loves Zed, but Zed is unaware of these feelings. As Izzy learns of a secret that has been kept for generations in her family, Izzy becomes more immersed in Zed’s life and together they try to unravel what has been learned as Izzy seeks guidance for her own life.
Mindy Starns Clark and Leslie Gould have teamed up to write an excellent series. The Amish Seamstress is a great addition to the series and a story that many will relate to. Izzy is a well-developed main character and struggles with fitting in and finding her own place and way in the world. Although Izzy is part of a large family and close-knit community, she still feels alone and out of place. Izzy was easy to empathize with and you will become completely engrossed in her life and story.
This story is an excellent combination of romance, mystery, and drama along with details that bring the setting and characters to life.
