The Alien Agenda depicts an exhilarating future, where materializing anywhere on earth with just a thought is possible. The vivid descriptions of its crystal-ringed alien, red-eyed monsters, and other supernatural elements make this fantasy feel surprisingly real. I loved how the story encourages several uplifting ideas and activities that promote unity—like the law that mandates officers of the law to partake, occasionally, in community service "to get to know the ones they are serving and policing." The world would not only be more peaceful but also be filled with happier humans if the solutions the book proffers to world problems are practiced. The slow pace and the inconsistent nature of the book might be off-putting to some readers; it appeared loosely connected. However, the astounding profoundness and the mind-opening ideas that James McGill Jr's book offers make it a worthwhile read.

Author James McGill presents the arrival of Az3-Pi, an extraterrestrial, who is sent to change Earth’s path of destruction through its leaders. During a meeting on Earth, Az3-Pi equips the 1900 leaders with manglas, a device that works as a telepathic communication translator. Az3-Pi informs the world about the universe and the need to change their understanding spiritually. Meanwhile, the dark side has created the Searcher’s Alignment and has sent Ultraka54 to harvest souls to take over Earth. Ultraka54 decides to disregard his mission and chooses to be able to rule over Earth solely. In order for his plan to work, he travels underground and contacts the Reptilods. The Reptilods can change into human forms, and influence people. With all the odds stacked against them, can the United States President Duprea and Marcus save the planet?

James McGill’s story is best described as a science-fiction story with a spiritual side to it. The Alien Agenda is unique by describing that stronger faith needs to be used to save Earth, yet dismissing the faith in God. Instead, Az3-Pi is determined to teach them about an energy source named Zero. I was surprised by the accurate depiction of America’s current social issues. I agree with the profound statement, “When change comes to America, there will be rebellion on all fronts. Rebellion in the church, rebellion in the family, rebellion in the government, and yes, rebellion everywhere.” Despite the setting of the story being in 2028, if I look at the news, these events are happening now. I am a Christian, and while I don’t accept the idea of an energy source being real, the ideas offered in the book did make sense. Any reader that enjoys a thoughtful science-fiction story written to prevent an apocalypse should read The Alien Agenda. Reading with an open mind, it is definitely a book that made me reflect a lot on the world’s current existence.

In terms of the story itself, author James McGill Jr has crafted an interesting and compelling tale. Whilst I found some of the central plot elements in need of a more concrete basis, once you buy into the concept of the work, it’s easy to get swept away by the sharp and intriguing dialogue and the wide range of interesting characters who McGill has put a lot of care into creating. Az3-Pi is a very original and unusual character that fans of alien fiction will recognize in some ways but be totally surprised by in others, which is a refreshing balance to encounter in a genre that is so overdone these days.

I was also able to listen to the audiobook version as part of this review, narrated by Andrew Rowe, which added another dimension of interest and really intensified the drama of the story. Rowe’s smooth voice delivers a lot of the exposition in a really easy-to-understand way and helps readers follow the more intricate complexities of the story really well. Overall, I would recommend The Alien Agenda to fans of aliens and science fiction who enjoy new philosophical twists on the genre.
