The Adventures of Hercubear by Lesley Williams is the story of Hercubear who lived in Ancient Greece. He had mighty strength and wisdom that he used to solve problems. Is anything too difficult for Hercubear? How about very stinky old Cyclops Rabbit who always ate so much garlic that no one wanted to be around him because of his awful smell. Or the Cat God of the sea, Pusseidon, who was just so very angry when Hercubear tried to help Merbears. Or how could Hercubear help an entire race of fierce female warrior hamsters trying to overcome Cenpaw, the male gerbil? Read all about them in Lesley Williams’ remarkable book, The Adventures of Hercubear.
The author uses rhyming verses to tell three compelling stories of mighty hero Hercubear. This book is chock full of fun and interesting excitement that children and adults alike will thoroughly enjoy. Each story is a few pages long and can be used for all ages. Younger kids will enjoy having this book read to them, and older kids will have fun reading The Adventures of Hercubear for themselves. Either way, I think this story is a must for your child’s library. Along with the exciting story, Floyd Ryan Yamyamin adds his special touch with amazingly crafted illustrations that will capture the attention of young and old alike. I really can’t explain how well the characters go with the story, making the adventure come alive on the pages. And I love the outdoorsy colors, the facial expressions, and just everything about the illustrations. This is truly a book you will want to purchase for that special child in your life.
