In Tales of a Rookie Rancher Volume 1, Robert B. Hamilton retells some of his funniest moments in the forty years that he has been running their farm. Videos of stallions, auctions of horses, breeding, and many other stories about farming and animals will surely crack you up. Although written by Bob, his wife played a big role in this book; she was with him throughout the whole story. The introduction mentioned how Bob and his wife got into ranching in the first place.
I always believed that if the first chapter of the book isn’t good, the rest of the book probably isn’t as well. But for this story, I was already laughing from the first chapter up until the last one. “I did not look up, preferring to march briskly toward my goal of finding another human being, any human being but my wife.” This one is a line from the second chapter about the auction that had me literally laughing out loud.
This book is hilarious, and I’m thinking because this is only Volume 1, there will be more and I can’t wait to read the others. It’s humorous but I have learned some things for when I decide to run a farm, like not all free stuff is good stuff. And when my spouse tells me not to bid on a horse, I'd better not. Only six chapters, but the funniest six chapters ever. Robert B. Hamilton will probably have many fans after reading Tales of a Rookie Rancher Volume 1.
