Forensic psychologist Dr. Darrell Diamondback has a penchant for solving cases involving paranormal entities. Working on his own for a secret government agency called Paranormal Investigation and Education Department, Darrell gets a rude awakening when his handler, Stravinsky, forces him to hire three other members for his crew. Soon, Darrell finds himself working on a case involving missing children in San Francisco with his new hires, Charles Mopps (Charlie), a computer specialist, news reporter Jaiden Fox, and former military veteran Edward Anderson (Ed). After discovering that the prime suspect is the same bogeyman who murdered his little sister thirty years ago, Darrell struggles to overcome the nightmares of his past.
