Take Control of Your Life: Rescue Yourself and Live the Life You Deserve by J. Paul Nadeau is a self-help book that gives readers the insights and tools they need to reclaim their lives and experience the power of inner freedom. Written by a trained investigator, hostage negotiator, and international peacekeeper, who brings a lot of experience into the writing, this book articulates brilliantly on a variety of topics and helps readers define their path to inner freedom. Some of the topics include self-examination, dealing with our real enemies, and the importance of crafting a plan, transitioning from choices to action, and a lot more. In these pages, readers find tips, insights, and deep truths that will liberate them from the clutches of victimhood and allow them to prevent any form of abuse taking control of their lives.
In the opening pages of the book J. Paul Nadeau writes: “My goal in writing this book was to help you identify the cause(s) that might lead you to hold yourself hostage or allow yourself to be held hostage to a personal or professional relationship, a career, a thought or series of thoughts, or any of the many other life situations and circumstances that can promote this syndrome…” The central theme of this book is taking control and I loved how the author explains the many ways we can hold our lives hostage. He shows readers that they have the key to their freedom — real inner freedom — and shows them where to find this key and how to use it. The writing is confident and filled with personal and real-life experiences with lessons for readers. Take Control of Your Life: Rescue Yourself and Live the Life You Deserve offers the guidance I was looking for, in a language that is accessible and a tone that is both authoritative and compassionate.
