I couldn't resist this masterpiece! The plot was meaty, and I savored the enthralling story. Rektok Ross's skillfully constructed, vivid descriptions will seamlessly transport you to Palm Key Island when Hurricane Helena is approaching fast from the south. As the oncoming disaster causes massive power outages and darkness, and mistrust between closest friends skyrockets to an all-time high, you can almost hear the clock ticking as the impending carnage moves from lurking in the shadows and into the rental. I loved the suspense; readers will never guess the next thing to happen, and the roller coaster of events has a way of sucking one deep into the plot. Summer Rental goes deeper than just a chilling horror story that'll keep you up all night. It's an encouragement for us to be honest about ourselves to others. It's also a beautifully crafted work that expands on marginalization, vengeance, and bullying. Every conflict in the book is resolved satisfactorily, every essential loose end is neatly tied up, and everything draws to a worthwhile conclusion. Readers searching for a story with gripping action, horror, and adventure will best appreciate it.
