Submarine Adventure by L. D. Dauphin and Vaya Dauphin is an adventure of twin brothers, Jake and Tom. They accidentally come across Emerald Cave while exploring their new farm in Australia. They run into a stranger there who takes them back in time to World War I. They find it difficult to cope with the challenges faced during war time.
The authors have woven a captivating story set against the backdrop of World War I. Time travel has always been an interesting concept for me so I found the story very exciting. The book has history as well as adventure, which is good for children. They also get exposed to the era of World War I and the lives of people during war. The authors have captured the essence of war. I found that part informative for children because it narrates a part of history in an entertaining way.
The Emerald Cave and the excitement surrounding its discovery is palpable. The narration and the details are delightful and endearing. The theme is exciting and interesting and opens young readers' minds to a novel concept: time travel. With all the adventure happening in the book, the story is fast paced and readers will not feel like putting it down till they complete it. The story is appealing not only to children, but even young adults and older readers will find it an interesting read.
