Best friends, Skip and James, again set off in haphazard fashion to find their fortunes. They become entangled in a plot involving Cuban nationals and they go from one crazy scheme to another. The two men agree to deliver goods to the husband of an estranged couple and, during their adventure, they come across a severed finger which they also decide to deliver to the husband. He then hires the pair and they go from one ill-conceived plan to another.

The friendship and dialogue between the two is delightful but the other characters do not have proper development so the plot is not believable and viable. The introduction of the CIA seems to compound a weak plot and is never fully resolved by the end of the story. Yet, there is something charming and likable about the book. This probably stems from the reader's identity with the dreams of the main characters and the recognition of the fact that the stuff to die for is really not connected to wealth and fame.
