Sto-etry: Love. Nature. Song. by Christopher Meesto Erato is a hopeful, insightful, and winning collection of poems and stories born of a life lived in appreciation of love, nature, music, and humanity. Christopher Meesto Erato explores the landscape of the human heart and the environs of New York City. He writes with a mystic’s all-seeing eye and a rhythmic musicality that captivate the reader and provoke self-examination. Writing courageously of a world full of people leaning toward love but obsessed with self, Christopher Meesto Erato serves as both a mirror for our souls and a voice for our collective conscience. From “The Great Mystery”: “Peeling back the layers/Trying to get to the core/Where Timeless wisdom is stored/As the caterpillar morphs into the butterfly/So shall I shed the skin of doubt/And keep the selfish ego in check/By engaging the us, we, our – rather than/The I, Me, My.”
In addition to such soul-searching verse, Christopher Meesto Erato’s Sto-etry: Love. Nature. Song. features a series of fully orchestrated song lyrics, with scripted sections for elements as diverse as harmonica solos and fade-outs. Who can resist a collection of verse that comes with its own orchestration rubric? From “Keep on Keepin’ on”: “Gotta …/Keep on fightin’ – Keep on Uniting/Keep on Keepin’ on!/Whistle/Harmonica/Fiddle solo – 2 measures.”
Every aspect of Sto-etry: Love. Nature. Song. by Christopher Meesto Erato bespeaks love as the driving force behind the greatest of human joys and the most glaring human failures: for better or worse, Christopher Meesto Erasto loves us as we are, in the world we have made with our strengths and weaknesses fully laid bare for public view. The goodwill inherent in such a positive point of view propels Sto-etry: Love. Nature. Song. into the realm of the interesting and edifying. Beyond the good intentions, some cogent and appealing verse waits for all who are willing to embrace Christopher Meesto Erato’s ebullient and warmly infectious world view.
