Sting of the Seer is an urban fantasy novella by Charter Road. Ignoring the advice of his friend, 31-year-old Jeremy Thompson, a professor of entomology, traverses the dunes of Egypt in search of the mythical book, Baalzebub, to become the lord of the flies. Instead, he finds himself becoming a vassal of Baalzebub, who forces Jeremy to target the Seer and prophetess Destiny Fletcher, a young woman and student in the class of Professor Charles Chapman at New Orleans University. Charles is determined to make Destinty his wife but stumbles in his attempts to woo her. Meanwhile, Jeremy is back in New Orleans and instigates an insidious plan to oust Destinty from the Hope Church. Will Charles be able to save his best friend's soul? Can Destiny emerge unscathed from these events?

A short novella about hope and faith, Sting of the Seer will appeal to fantasy readers who love stories with mystery, romance, and battles between good and evil. Author Charter Road infuses a lot of biblical lore and themes into a fast-paced plot that includes a few surprises along the way. There are two main plot threads that come together toward the end for a thrilling climax that will have you on the edge of your seats. The author's narrative focuses on the concept of forgiveness and seeking redemption through faith in God, and I think Christian readers will especially find a lot to love about this book. I very much enjoyed the reading experience, and if you're into fantasy or stories with Christian themes, you won't go wrong with this one!
