Spiritual Yoga: How to transcend our human consciousness to Universal consciousness is a work of non-fiction on the themes of spiritual guidance and autobiographical experience, and it was penned by author Paul Ardennes. This concise but interesting account of a personal journey into exploring the true nature of God provides readers with the circumstances and exploration undertaken by the author since the age of nineteen, and from there he invites readers to join him on this journey. The key factors include discovering what the author terms ‘stillness’ or ‘silentness’ within, allowing them to access a higher level of consciousness and understand the nature of the universe on a new level.
Author Paul Ardennes presents a narrative that is very open and not at all prescriptive, which is great for a book that offers new perspectives on spiritual belief and the path to true enlightenment. Because it is not preachy or heavily religion-specific in any way, the narrative reads like an autobiography for the most part and invites readers to understand Ardennes’s perspective. In an age of definitive answers and attempts to ‘crack the code’, the organization of this book as an open life story with the potential to guide others really works, and presents a laid-back but informative style of spiritual advice. What results is a work that is easy to read and well written, and though its ideas may not be suited to all, I would certainly recommend it to anyone with an open mind seeking a higher level of peace.
