So Hard to Do is a rom-com drama by Sally Basmajian. Suze Foster had done everything she could to raise her daughter Jannie in the proper way. With Jannie now a high-ranking corporate executive, Suze left her condo to live independently and pursue other interests. Jannie inadvertently flooded her apartment, needing to be rescued by Aram Krikorian, her older, handsome neighbor. Jannie developed an almost obsessive crush on Aram and was determined to win his heart. Meanwhile, Suze struggled to pay her rent and ended up working as a receptionist at a burgeoning tech company. Aram and Suze began to fall for each other, while Jannie convinced her childhood friend Kirk to take her to the wedding of a work colleague. Will Aram and Suze's relationship drive a wedge between the mother and daughter?
Sally Basmajian builds on an intriguing premise to deliver a wonderfully hilarious romance you won't want to put down. So Hard to Do will be a delicious treat for readers who enjoy unorthodox love triangles. Basmajian infuses the narrative with an entertaining combination of humor, romance, and drama that will keep you engaged all the way through. The dialogue is witty, and there are moments of situational comedy that will have you in stitches throughout. I particularly enjoyed the characterization of Jannie, who can be a little spoilt and naive, and it made for some great comedic scenes. I also liked her relationship with her mother Suze. This is a book that contemporary romance readers are bound to love.
