Small Business Acceleration: Get Noticed Using Facebook, LinkedIn, Email Marketing and Public Relations is a non-fiction business book written by Pamela Wigglesworth. Wigglesworth has started several small businesses. Her losses from her first failed business prompted her to research marketing options and solutions that could prevent future failures. This text starts with an introduction to Facebook and guides the reader through setting up a company page, getting Likes, running contests and paying for advertising. LinkedIn, the social network for professionals, is also discussed, and the differences between the two networks is stressed. The author continues with discussions on email marketing and how to keep your emails from ending up in the spam folder; public relations; and video marketing.

Pamela Wigglesworth's business text, Small Business Acceleration: Get Noticed Using Facebook, LinkedIn, Email Marketing and Public Relations, is filled with essential information for small business owners and anyone who's considering starting one. While I'm familiar with Facebook, I found the information on getting a company page promoted to be invaluable. I was likewise impressed with the chapter on email campaigns. The author sets out goals for email marketing, and provides names and links to companies that provide services for free and for a fee. The public relations chapter, however, was the real gem as far as I'm concerned. Few people understand public relations and the power of the press. Fewer still know how to reach those publications. Wigglesworth approaches the process in a step-by-step format, and she even provides a complete and easy-to-follow tutorial for crafting your own press releases. The final chapter hits on video and stresses both how dynamic and powerful video can be as a marketing tool, and how easy it is to make your own videos. I am so impressed with Small Business Acceleration: Get Noticed Using Facebook, LinkedIn, Email Marketing and Public Relations. It's the perfect how-to manual for marketing your business and products, and it's highly recommended.

There’s a lot about businesses that I really don’t know. I was amazed, though, at how much this book really explained. If you’re not sure how to use a specific form of social media to advance your business, then you’ll be able to discover it here. The screenshots were a nice touch too since they help you to better understand what you should be doing and what you should be looking for. Even if you’ve never used these types of social media before (LinkedIn, Facebook) you’ll be able to learn and there are also sections on more traditional methods like video marketing and using email. There are more than enough ways to make sure your business is off to the very best start. Small Business Acceleration will help jump-start your progress in any type of business.

This book is a valuable resource for creating and heightening an online presence as well as providing an insight into useful tools and means for effective marketing. If launching your business online seems daunting and overwhelming, this useful guide will steer you through the various stages to enable your business to establish a significant online presence.

This how-to guide is not just about social media. The author, Pamela Wigglesworth, provides useful information on other areas to help with marketing tools. Some companies and facilities were new to me, but strategies, too, are explored. I have never heard of EMV and didn’t know what it meant or how it worked. Pamela explains it clearly and simply. Press releases are another area that Pamela discusses, providing valuable information on structure and content, how to submit the press release effectively, and how to build relationships with the media. You will undoubtedly need a pen and paper when reading this book to note down all the useful information that is provided. What I found particularly helpful was the names and links for additional support in preparing an online presence, from online marketing distributors to tools for writing effective copy.
