Singing Woman: Voices of the Sacred Feminine is a work of non fiction by author Elizabeth S. Eiler, Ph.D. which focuses on spiritual concepts to suggest a new ideology for the modern woman by harking back to the great women of the past. Though the volume discusses many upsetting modern issues such as violence, body image, guns and suicide, the overall message is one of hope. Readers are encouraged to reshape their lives for a redefined model of feminine success, where the inner healing and well-being of the person is just as important, if not more so, as outward success in the wider world. Many examples of what Dr Eiler calls ‘goddesses’ of the past are used to convey this movement from the past to the present and future.
With a view to creating harmony and equality between the masculine and feminine voices of the modern world, Elizabeth S. Eiler has produced a really interesting volume that mixes New Age styles of fulfillment with empowerments from the past, but also a much less militant form of feminism as we look towards the future. I really appreciated her dedication to creativity, healing, inner happiness and building community as a means for success in all ventures of life, and I think her ideology comes at a time when humanity is very isolated and could definitely use these ideas for great good. Overall, Singing Woman: Voices of the Sacred Feminine is definitely a book that anyone struggling with a lack of fulfillment in their lives could use.
