Simona's New Adventure: La Nueva Aventura de Simona by Gabriela Gotay is an educational bilingual book for young readers. The story begins with Simona packing just enough clothes and toys. She is leaving her home and her room. She can't pack everything, but she makes sure that she takes her prized possessions with her. But she is sad to leave her home. Simona writes her name in one corner of the wall of the living room. Her parents know she is scared of leaving, but they try to explain to her the significance of the new adventure.
The story tells readers the importance of change in one's life and how one must leave their fears behind to begin new adventures. The illustrations are wonderful and convey the concept clearly. It's a bilingual book, hence reaches out to more readers. The book is a good bedtime storybook and is also good for read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries. The questions that can spark a conversation at the end of the story are interactive and are good for children as this will help them to think and imagine.
Simona is an adorable character and many children will be able to relate to her feelings and emotions. The story has a good message and the author has put it across very nicely. Simona's story will help children look at the challenges in their lives with a good perspective and handle them better.
