Shopping Can Be Deadly by Charlotte Stuart is a Discount Detective Mystery. Cameron Chandler, a single mom and a Penny-Wise Investigations investigator, is on her way to work in the shopping mall one morning when shots ring out. A man drops in front and Cameron rushes to his aid as people panic all around her. Suddenly, Cameron is grabbed from behind and dragged out of the mall. Her kidnapper is a man she’s worked with before and he needs her help. He needs her to babysit Bandit, his dog, while he disappears on a case he believes is related to the mall shooting. Agreeing, Cameron has no idea what she has let herself, her family, and her colleagues in for as a pair of fake FBI agents are on the hunt for the dog and his owner and will stop at nothing to get to them. Cameron must stop them from succeeding and she can only do that with the help of her family and colleagues. At the same time, she needs to determine the story behind the shooting – was her friend the target, and was it a complete coincidence?
Shopping Can Be Deadly by Charlotte Stuart is for fans of mystery and detective series. A light-hearted mystery, it is part serious, part humorous, filled with scenes that will make you giggle aloud. The action is non-stop as our main protagonist and her entourage step up to solve several mysteries in one go. There are a couple of storylines here and they all converge neatly towards the end. Just when you think the mystery is solved, something else will happen to kick it all off again – by the end of the story, you might just be exhausted from all the running to and from! Great story, and it’s made me want to read the rest of the series. A nice way to lose yourself for a couple of hours.
