Shavasana Sun by Taylor Harper is an excellent bedtime read for early readers or younger children who might have trouble settling down at bedtime, nap time, or when a calming atmosphere might be needed or appreciated. I love the idea of breathing practices for children as they can be relaxing and fun before bedtime or whenever a child needs the discipline of a calming, relaxing atmosphere. The colorful, vibrant illustrations in the book are charming, age-appropriate, and very professional for early readers or K-3 students. I loved the farm theme and the happy sun, as children can easily relate to the farm animals and weather themes.
I loved Shavasana Sun by Taylor Harper, and I would recommend the book to any parent who might appreciate the benefits of yoga and meditation. This book is an excellent way to introduce young children to mindfulness, self-awareness, and soothing relaxation. Young children can be nervous, stressed, tired, or anxious, just like all the cute farm animals. The book has a positive message with a happy sun and shows that mindful breathing can help even farm animals resolve their everyday stresses. Overall, I found Sahvasana Sun a very engaging book, with strong, appealing illustrations and a conclusive message for kids of all ages.
