There was once a force of labor that was not led or represented by any...then came along the unions. They organized, fought for rights and seemed to better the lives of their members. But what happened behind the scenes? "Shadowbosses: Government Unions Control America and Rob Taxpayers Blind" exposes the strong arming, pilfering and even corruption that makes up these forces. It shows how the unions profit and influence from the meakest minion to the most powerful politician. It is such a touchy subject that media doesn't want anything to do with it. There are staunch supporters of unions and then there are those who are merely members out of necessity. This book brings to light the seedier side of the union movement and how it effects Americans.
While not a book for everyone, it is still one that is informative and eye opening. Openmindedness and willingness to learn what goes on behind those closed doors is educational, this book certainly not being an exception. I would recommend anybody in the workforce or about to join the workforce to read this book. If nothing else, perhaps it would help them in making a decision based on the whole story, not just what the union representatives tell them. It is a very volatile subject. Unions are strong in will and power..I would caution against discussion before really knowing who you are talking to. This is a great book for the public library system and any job course that teaches about the union versus non-union career choices. Ultimately, it is an individual decision but as they say, knowledge is power.
