Word of Yeshua had spread throughout the region. Everyone seemed to be demanding something from him. They were looking for a leader to organize a rebellion to destroy Rome.   The Pharisees, Sadducees, and Sanhedrin were concerned about their power. They were more concerned with keeping man’s laws than man. Here was a man that could raise the dead when the religious leaders would not go near the dead, because it would leave them unclean. Here was a man that would heal on Sunday, even though Jewish law forbids any labor on Sunday. In the eyes of the religious leaders, there was no choice Yeshua must die. Yeshua came that others might live!

Seventh Day by Bodie and Brock Thoene is the seventh in the AD Chronicles. I have not read the first six but will rectify that.  The Thoene’s are extremely talented authors. They have brought the gospel to life on the pages of Seventh Day. This book is not only entertaining, but is spiritually enlightening. There are many characters to keep up with, but the lead characters are well-developed. My soul trembled as El’azar came forth from the tomb. It is obvious that the authors researched their topic well. Seventh Day grabs the reader’s attention from the first page and does not let go until the last. The Thoene’s paint a vivid picture of the life of Jesus Christ. The message of this book is informative and uplifting. I will be recommending Seventh Day to all of my friends.

Seventh Day continues the beautiful story of The A. D. Chronicles, which actually began in book 4 of the Thoenes' Zion Legacy series. A special prologue and epilogue will be meaningful to readers of that series as well as the Zion Chronicles and Covenant that began it all; but the book centers around the New Testament characters Miryam, Marta, El'azar, and especially, of course, Yeshua.

These characters--both the historical and the fictional ones--live, and their lives help readers see Bible stories in new ways. The books' clear theme, presented in many ways, is that everything in Scripture has meaning. A reading guide at the end of each volume makes this and other A. D. Chronicles an excellent choice for a book club.

In all the Thoenes' books you find engrossing stories, marvelous writing, backed by meticulous research, and infused with deep faith. This one captivated me from the opening page; I finished it in one day and am still living in it.

My only complaint against this five-star novel is its length. At 212 pages, it is far too short. That didn't hurt the writing or the story, but they could have included more. The first three books in the series were well over 300 pages, but they've grown ever shorter since then. This is 50 pages shorter than the last (which didn't seem any too long at the time). People who love these books, love their depth and would only enjoy them more if they lasted longer.

I have been reading the Thoene's books for over 20 years now. I have all except the most recent that I haven't purchased yet. The Thoene's are my all-time favorite authors. I love the insight to the history of the times: whether it's Jerusalem at the time of Jesus, post WWI going into the depression, the old west, or Ireland during the oppressive reign of over-lords, they bring you right there. You feel the emotion, understand what people's lives were like, and gain knowledge and insight you never had.

I would recommend ALL of their books!!!!

I am interested in good clean stories that leave one feeling like life has some value. The A D Chronicles are such books. I would recommend them
for any adult's reading. The Thoenes are wonderful writers that have the ability to transport a reader back in time to share the action first hand.

This is the 7th book in the A.D. Chronicles series. This is the best series of books I have ever read, and I have read many. I would highly recommend this book. I am understanding the Bible better as I get insights into the history and traditions of the 1st century A.D.

I love this authors series. This one follows the life of Christ with very interesting characters. They weave truthful facts and stories into a well developed story line. I am always anticipating the next one in the series - can't wait! Very well written.

First off, I am a huge fan of B & B Thoene. This book is the continuation fo the story of Jesus through the eyes of the people who he touched. The most wonderful thing is that He (Jesus) continues to touch and change lives. Even though I have read the story of Lazarus many times, this book puts a new Light on the miracle at Bethany.

This is an excellent book; well researched and with scripture to support where appropriate. The Thoenes write with such real emotion and paint such vivid pictures that you almost feel yourself in the middle of the action.

i was not bothered by the shorter length. this work flows well and does not suffer from choppiness or disjointed placement that some of the earlier pieces exhibit. you cannot read this without seriously wondering
what it would be like to be in the immediate presence of Jesus Christ or just to be near him. it wonderfully works through the theme of patience and realizing that the timetable of man is different than God's. Peniel is a very likeable character and his perspective works well like a first person, witness account. the description of disease is vivid and will stay with you. the ending is uplifting. the best thing is that this is not just a fiction. the authors do a masterful job of making you feel as though you have traveled back in time. their works always compel me to read the relevant stories in the bible.

I love all the Zion books, and waited with great excitement for the seventh installment of the AD Chronicles. I even bought the hardback as I didn't want to wait for the paperback edition. The book is written well; and even though I knew what was going to happen, I was still on the edge of my seat waiting to see just how the story was going to be handled. I wasn't disappointed with the story. However, I fear that this series may be falling into the same category as other good series as the books become shorter and the substance stretched thinner to allow for more sequels. This could be what publishers do but I hate to see it happen with this series. I will be much more patient in future and and wait for the paperback to come out

This is an awesome continuation of the A.D. Chronicles series. It makes you feel like you are living in Jesus' time and walking with him in His ministry. I look forward to each new book in the series!
