Seed: Destiny by Joshua David is a science fiction fantasy about an epic battle between the forces of good and evil. On the side of good are angels armed with hi-tech weapons and a variety of magical powers. Their enemies include demons and other evil beings. To complicate matters, a mysterious alien spaceship is hovering just above the surface, watching the events below. The story's main focus is Sal and his team of powerful angels. Though they attack the evil forces with gusto, they can’t help but find themselves taking two steps backward after every step of victory. The strange UFO in the sky must hold the answers and it's up to Sal to investigate.
Seed: Destiny succeeds in taking a well-worn story like angels versus demons and breathing new life into it, making it into something totally fresh. Author Joshua David’s vivid imagination takes his story in all kinds of crazy directions that I never saw coming. Probably my favorite thing about this book is the colorful cast of characters that make up Sal’s team of battle angels. They are a diverse bunch, each with a unique personality and special abilities. This book is listed under Christian fantasy/sci-fi but I see no reason why secular readers should be bothered by the Christian label. It is first and foremost an epic fantasy tale about good forces battling bad forces. Magic and sci-fi elements are infused all throughout. Throw in the strong mix of characters and you have a fun read for anyone who loves a good fantasy/science fiction novel.
