Second Chances by Vik Walker is Book Two in the Dragon Hunters series. You know the old saying, “every cloud has a silver lining?” Well, in this case, those silver linings are full of black clouds. Sully has finally got his magik and he is becoming incredibly powerful just as the bottom falls out of his world. A teammate has died and it’s Sully’s fault. His best friend has disappeared and the girl he loves has walked off with someone else. But really, Sully couldn’t expect anything else, given the time he spent as a dragon when he should have been getting on with his life. The Master of Evil has caused First Class to split apart and now they must fight to get back the lost one. They must reach deep inside themselves, find the way back together – the only way they can defeat the Master is to fight together.
Second Chances by Vik Walker is the second book in this series and although I had not read the first one, I found the complex plotline coupled with intriguing characters ensures that you are hooked on this story from the minute you start reading. The main character, Sully, is smart and funny, very likable, and easy to relate to. The plot has plenty of action and lots of twists and turns. It is a little dark in places but this is balanced by some humor and the entire story perfectly suits the YA audience it is aimed at. I would recommend reading the first story in the series, though, as it will probably give you a better understanding of this one.
