"Scattered Leaves" is one of those stories which will leave its enchanting imprint deep within you for quite a while. Anyone who enjoys the paranormal genre will certainly delight in this one which offers real known paranormal facts which tie into a past era with such force and feeling. One has to appreciate the richness of knowledge for the Native American story told here. Prince has detailed knowledge about her subject and it shows as she tells her story with so much passion and emotion.
This novel is what I call an all-inclusive one which offers romance, humor, action, true historical facts, and Native American legend and lore. Right from the beginning you can sense that the town is engulfed with paranormal events as you are introduced to an eerie formation of leaves that hold some dark secrets. I almost had myself feeling reminiscent of the 80's movie 'The Fog', with its ghosts of the past coming for revenge! Lynny Prince depicts each character's emotions so well that you can feel them to the bone! You can't help but wonder what evil force the town hero has to battle next. Due to the mix of true historical facts and pure fiction it makes past eras come alive. The story had me so motivated that I later found myself researching facts from the 1862 Sioux Uprising. I can only say that I am most anxious for the next book in the series. I can only imagine what mystical forces Kyle and Nina will face in the next volume!
