Rebbit’s narrative strategy takes advantage of his experiences in the military and steadily builds up his premise with wisdom and knowledge to create a compelling storyline that you will want to follow from the first book to the last. More importantly, can Sanderson and the rest figure it out before it is too late?

I am a self-professed romance addict and don’t enjoy science fiction or fantasy as much, but there are certain series and novels that are a clear exception for me. Salvation by D. Rebbitt is one of them. With twists at every turn and a well-developed character taking the reins of the narrative in each chapter or chapter break, readers are given new information, and that is enough to keep them reading. Sanderson is my favorite character. He is perceptive, sharp, and understands the unpredictability of war better than his younger counterparts in the story. I knew by chapter three that he was the character to look out for, although Admiral Medici gave Sanderson a run for his money. There is not just technology and grand weapons to keep science fiction fans happy. There is a genuine plot and enough surprises to make fans of the series beg for more.

From foot soldiers risking their lives for the liberation of another nation to corrupt, power-hungry bureaucrats trying to take advantage of the situation, Rebbitt draws a realistic portrait of war that keeps your eyes glued to the pages until the end. Highly recommended.
