Rise Of The Moments is a sci-fi novel written by Carl L. Gabriel, Jr. For an eternity, ethereal beings called "Moments" were entrusted with the task of recording specific events within the life cycle of certain species throughout the universe. Two such designated Moments, called Eight, observed humanity for eons. However, when one of them encounters Joe, a man with a split personality disorder with a penchant for vigilantism, the assigned Moment goes rogue and assumes the persona of the Errant, creating a minor rift in the Universal Fabric. When Eight confronts Errant, they switch personalities, and the new Errant becomes a pseudo humanoid called Quantum. The new iteration of Eight now seeks the help of Professor Daniel Kerr to protect the Universal Fabric while Quantum plots to kill Joe to attain freedom.
Author Carl L. Gabriel, Jr. incorporates elements from theoretical physics, metaphysics, theology, and philosophy to create a fascinating work of sci-fi that is bound to entertain fans of the genre. Rise Of The Moments is full of intriguing ideas and conceptual scientific theories that make you introspect and leave you with a lot to ponder about long after you've finished reading the book. The narrative builds on a uniquely authentic premise and keeps you hooked with its unexpected twists and turns. The author uses expository dialogue between the characters to make the intricately woven plot accessible and easy to digest. I found the characters complex, with layers of depth to their outward personas. Recommended to fans of sci-fi.
