Carol Whitaker uses her book, Ridiculously Happy: The Secret to Manifesting the Life and Body of Your Dreams, to establish a Christian approach to the Law of Attraction. Whitaker lays out a plan for spiritual, mental and physical actualization based on the steps she took to reach her own ideal state of mind. She was able to transform her own ailing body into that of a professional fitness model using the techniques employed in Ridiculously Happy, also known as her LivFit program for overall wellness. Whitaker believes the Law of Attraction is God's method for allowing us to achieve our dreams and that his divine intention is for us to be able to live our lives to the fullest. She encourages the use of energy therapy like the Sedona Method, rapid eye movement, acupuncture, and Cranio-Sacral Therapy, but these are not addressed in depth. Whitaker's focus lies more on banishing negativity through journaling and meditation, along with some more obscure methods like EFT. She wants the reader to establish a basis for well-being by recognizing the divinity within themselves and learning to forgive both themselves and others for past transgressions.
It's not really clear why Whitaker addresses only female readers, as the techniques can be used by both men and women alike. However, the long-established merits of journaling and meditation are sure to benefit anyone. Whitaker's exercises do force the reader to face some potentially upsetting realities as a means of making peace with them and moving forward. Addressing painful circumstances is an important way to uncover the subconscious influences on our mindset and physical health. Whitaker's guidance allows the reader to discover the underlying impediments to their own happiness in a gentle, accepting way.
