Revolution is the first book in The Sol Saga by James Fox, an enthralling science fiction tale with strong political themes and interplanetary intrigue. Brigadier General Keith Brennan of the Protectorate Forces is a skilled soldier who prefers battle to state dinners, and when we meet him, he is not comfortable in his dress-whites — the stiff collar, the constant fear of accidentally smearing the planet’s pervasive red-black dust on the too-tight fabric. But when the President of the solar system is assassinated on Mars, he is the best choice to carry out an investigation. He uncovers a conspiracy that is carefully designed to push the entire system into war, and only he can stop Earth and Mars from engaging in a full-blown war. He might be the best person for the job, but time is against him.

There couldn’t be a better opening for a promising science fiction series than Revolution, a tale with a world that is well thought out and carefully executed. The writing, from the first page on, is descriptive and atmospheric, exploring a world that instantly occupies the imagination of the reader. This is an interplanetary thriller with wonderfully written characters and a conflict that affects the very survival of the solar system. James Fox is an author who outfoxes readers, crafting a twisty tale that is hard to put down, keeping readers guessing what happens next. It was delightful to read this opening book in the series, and I must say that I was completely immersed in the story, gripped from the first to the last page, thanks to the author’s expert storytelling skills and the deft plotting.

Revolution is a work of fiction in the science fiction genre and serves as the first book in The Sol Saga. It is aimed at mature readers and was penned by James Fox. The book follows an investigation into the assassination of the most powerful person in the solar system. Led by General Brennan, a man who would rather be in the trenches than playing politics, it doesn’t take long for the investigation to lead to an interplanetary conspiracy that risks propelling the relations between Earth and Mars into a full-scale conflict. Though, as things stand, that may not be too far off anyway.

Author James Fox has delivered a highly engaging science-fiction novel that will have you gripped from the first page right through to its satisfying conclusion. One of the things I enjoyed the most about this novel was the author’s masterful ability at world-building, making it all the easier to envision the world the characters were in and allowing yourself to fully engage with the setting. I felt the book balanced the science-fiction and the fantasy aspects well, which helped to move the story along in an authentic way. Revolution is filled to the brim with action, suspense, and twists and turns you won’t see coming, making it difficult to put the book down from the moment you start reading. The book displays many shifting perspectives throughout the chapter structure, which I felt added depth to the world and story, and helped me to invest emotionally in every character. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend Revolution to fans of rich science-fiction stories that are filled with action and suspense.

Revolution is the first book in The Sol Saga by James Fox, a cleverly plotted science fiction thriller with a setting in the twenty-third century; a tale of murder, intrigue, and a threat of staggering proportions. Brig. Gen. Keith Brennan of the Protectorate Forces faces the most difficult challenge of his career when the president of the United Nations Interplanetary Council is assassinated. The killer is found dead, probably from suicide, but the investigation uncovers more disturbing schemes involving a local businessman and top officials. With Mars placed under Martial Law, deadly attacks become more commonplace. Can Brennan and his team uncover the mystery and blow up the hornet’s nest before the conflict spills over?

An expertly written story that will delight any fans of science fiction, Revolution brims with action that starts pretty fast in the story. The characters are fleshed out and expertly developed, and watching characters like Gov. Helena Chu, Brennan, Helena, Tent, and others as they evolve through the story is fun. The author enriches the drama with intelligently written dialogues and creates suspense with characters whose motives are questionable. I loved the world-building and the way the author brings the red planet to life. Revolution is a real nail-biter from the start right up to the end; this rapid-fire thriller left me wanting to know what will happen in the next book in the series. It is written in gorgeous prose and paints images that will stay in the minds of readers long after they have put the book down.

Revolution by James Fox is the first book in The Sol Saga and a story with a strong appeal to fans of science fiction. Set in an interplanetary world, it follows General Keith Brennan who is suddenly called upon to investigate the assassination of President Patrick J. Motwani of the Sol system on Mars. While he is a highly skilled soldier and an intelligent investigator, everyone is looking up to him to uncover the plot that led to the murder. The investigation uncovers widespread corruption and a sinister plot to put Earth and Mars on a collision course. Those behind the conspiracies are bent on ensuring that the two planets collide in war. Can General Keith Brennan stop them or is it too late?

This is a well-plotted and expertly written novel and the interplanetary setting displays the work of a rich imagination. The descriptions are wonderful — filled with strong and vivid imagery — and the writing is superbly crisp. James Fox is a terrific writer who knows how to engage readers with robust writing and a conflict that is extraordinarily captivating. The assassination of a President is a horrible act of war and the author uses it to create a strong premise for the story, pulling the reader in with this dramatic event while introducing a protagonist that is solidly written. Revolution is overflowing with action, the plot fueled by the consistent sense of mystery and intrigue, and realistic characters. This is a novel of future ages, balanced and deftly executed.

Revolution is the first book in The Sol Saga by James Fox. Brigadier General Keith Brennan of the Protectorate Forces is a simple man. He hates too-tight clothes and stuffy dinners with officials. However, Keith cannot ignore duty, even if it means schmoozing with people he would rather avoid. He likes it when things are simple, but it is all about to change. The President of the United Nations Interplanetary Council, President Patrick Motwani, is dead, and Keith is the man to find out who killed him and why. And so, Keith starts investigating, and the deeper he looks, the murkier the investigation becomes. He uncovers some big names who will sell him and the entire planet for their gain. It is up to Keith to figure out who the big players are, what they want, and why they are doing it. It sounds easy; it isn’t. A war is about to begin between Earth and Mars unless Keith can stop it.

I am hooked on this story! Keith is the kind of protagonist that makes you crave more and wish the story didn’t end. James Fox has done a phenomenal job of creating a realistic and very charming character. The pace is fast, the narrative runs smoothly, and the descriptions (albeit gory at times) are vivid. I had a thrill rushing through me as I read the first few chapters; after that, I knew I was not putting this novel down until I reached the end in a single sitting. I kept turning pages because I found the plot and Keith, in particular, to be very interesting. While the genre is science fiction, it has enough mystery and humor to make anyone fall in love with Revolution. A perfect, action-packed, and adrenaline-inducing novel. I cannot wait for the next novel in the series. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a fast-paced mystery with a solid plot and an incredible protagonist.
