Nexus of the Anomaly by Chris Cosmain concludes The Anomaly Trilogy with a burst of intelligence, heart, and awe-inspiring scope. In this climactic final installment of the sci-fi saga, Cosmain delivers a layered, high-stakes narrative that pulls together seismic activity, biological threats, and ecological reckoning with effortless grace. Set against the exotic, perilous backdrop of the Caribbean and featuring a cast of scientists, researchers, and would-be saviors, the story maintains a taut sense of urgency while unveiling the terrifying truth behind the anomaly threatening to reshape the world.

Author Chris Cosmain knows how to keep the intensity levels going from cover to cover in this thrill ride of a book. However, there’s a brilliant balance of quieter moments of suspicion and sudden, action-packed scenes that burst off the page with world-ending ferocity. It’s refreshing to see more and more ecological concerns entering this genre and being delivered with such conviction, and great research grounds the story in something realistic to make the more fantastical elements sink in with the terror and tension they deserve. I also really enjoyed the naturalistic style that the wide cast of ensemble characters uses to deliver information, making the context easy to pick up without ever sacrificing the fast pace. Charlie’s journey was particularly resonant for me and a great balance of emotive storytelling and crucial plot delivery when it’s most needed. Overall, Nexus of the Anomaly is a fantastic follow-up that I highly recommend to fans of the series so far.
