He gave Marla her money back and said they cannot help her. But Dwayne wanted to know what was going on and decided to investigate. He soon realized that Marla did not give him all the correct details. When Dwayne met Scotty, he had to decide who he is telling the truth about. During his investigation, Dwayne uncovers a whole bunch of secrets. He met people he would never expect to be connected with. Nobody seems to be who they say they are in Retribution: Dwayne Morrow Mystery#3 by Darin Miller.
Retribution by Darin Miller is fast-paced with a thrilling plot, and the suspense makes it very powerful. A few stories were knitted together to form this exciting plot. It was hard to put the book down, even for a minute. I kept on turning the pages; I had to know who the killer was. There were so many twists and turns that I never knew what to expect next. The characters were fully developed, each with an intriguing backstory. I learned about each character on a deeper level, and I could relate to them. The story was unpredictable and there was always a surprise turn waiting for me. It is well written and managed to exceed my expectations. It was nothing at all how I expected, especially the end; it blew my mind.
