Realm of Mindweavers is the first book in the Tales of Golmeira series. The story is about a young girl named Zastra. She is the daughter of the Grand Marl of Golmeira, which is like a king. In a world where “mindweavers” possess the ability to put thoughts into anyone’s head, Zastra's father hopes that she is one of the few gifted with the ability, but unfortunately she is not. Zastra, desperate to please her father, trains in combat and in the ability to block mindweavers. She is sent by her father on a quest to keep her two younger siblings safe from the man, her own uncle, that betrayed her father and took over his kingdom. Zastra manages to keep herself and her two siblings safe by her own bravery and the kindness of strangers. Along her journey she must learn to be careful with those she trusts, how to survive in a world she has never been exposed to, and how to keep two infants alive.
In Realm of Mindweavers, Marianne Ratcliffe has created a very interesting, eventful story. I really love the concept of Realm of Mindweavers. The author did an excellent job of writing this book with a riveting story, characters, and plot. This book is completely clean, apart from minimal violence. If you are a concerned parent, there is nothing to be worried about. If you are a kid/ teenager/ young adult looking for a great new story, then this is the one. Overall, this book is definitely worth a read, and certainly not a waste of your money. It leaves you excited for the next one in the series. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series. I highly recommend Realm of Mindweavers!
