Having traveled extensively, I always love to create stories from my experiences. This book was fun to write, and I learned a lot about these little frogs that would enhance learning in the classroom. Rainfrog displays the wonder and intensity of childhood while uniting innocence with a funny, little character.

Rainfrog by Suzanne Gene Courtney is a beautiful story about a surprising relationship between a little girl and a small frog in the rainforest. When a young girl accompanies her father into the depths of the Puerto Rican rainforest, she is in for a surprise. As her father takes notes and completes his tasks as a Ranger, the little girl looks around the forest floor in wonder. Suddenly, a little frog hops into her life, and she forms a special bond with the tiny creature. Only, when her father is done with his work, the little girl must leave the little frog. Tearfully, she says goodbye, promising the little frog she will come back to look for him soon. Will she find him? Will they be able to play together once again?
Rainfrog by Suzanne Gene Courtney is the heartwarming story of a young girl and a tiny coqui frog. This book has beautiful color-pencil illustrations and a beautifully flowing story. I loved how the author takes the reader deep into the rainforest and educates the reader about the coqui frog and its habitat. This is the second book I have read from this author, and again I am very pleased with the engaging story and illustrations. The author does such a fantastic job of weaving interesting stories with educational facts. This story does more than educates the reader; it teaches respect for wildlife and its habitats. I would highly recommend this book to children who want to know more about the coqui frog and are interested in learning more about the rainforest.
