Quiet Lessons for the Introvert’s Soul by Gabriela Casineanu asks if you regard yourself as shy and reserved, and believe this is a personality flaw? Do you feel that being labelled an introvert means you must follow and not lead? In a world of fierce competition and the belief that you have to be an extrovert to succeed in life, do introverts have a positive contribution to make? In a series of 12 personal and enlightening interviews with successful introverts from around the world, that myth is about to be completely dispelled. Discover how each individual was able to overcome personal obstacles by drawing on their unique belief systems and challenging their limiting thought patterns. From entrepreneurs and teachers to public speakers and authors, they have all succeeded because of the core beliefs that introverts possess. At the end of each interview, Casineanu reveals the strengths that enabled them to make a huge impact in the world and help those around them.

As a person with extrovert personality traits, I was interested to discover what I could learn, if anything, from the mindset of an introverted person. To say this book changed my negative perspective of introverts being unsociable characters is an understatement. The author's gentle questioning technique really gave her interviewees an opportunity to reflect on how their quiet character is not only a strength, but has enabled them to make an impact on the people they come in contact with. One aspect of the book that resonated with me was the characteristic traits of an introvert such as perseverance, self-reflection, empathy, modesty and being open to self-development made them more in tune with their authentic self. There are many insightful moments throughout this book, and the lessons learned will not only empower the quiet and reserved in society, but also be a reminder to the extroverts that they can learn a great deal about living an authentic life by following their example. One quotation from the book that I will take with me is that introverts ‘make great leaders because they inspire people with their vision and not indoctrination’. A must for any school library to ensure children appreciate there is a place for every personality type in society.

How well do you know your own strengths? And those of your co-workers?
To find where you 'fit' in the world, including in the world of work, you need to be able to maximize your strengths. And if you manage others, you must figure out how to maximize their strengths, as part of your team delivering its A game.
Here is a book that helps with insights into those strong, silent types - the introverts of the world who make up almost half the population. It tells the stories of 13 people who know themselves to be introverts, including the author, a bestselling author and accomplished career coach and workshop leader. Each person in this book has grappled with the questions:
-What do I have to contribute?
-How, where, and in what conditions do I do my best work?
-Am I using my temperment as well as skills and experience to the greatest advantage?
-Am I supporting colleagues in doing the same?
Read this book if you want to do better at understanding your working self, in finding the right job or getting the next promotion, in switching locations or careers to more meaningful work and, beyond the workplace, in knowing yourself and improving relationships with family and friends.
Read it if you want a better, more positive and practical approach to getting the best from colleagues, customers and suppliers.
Read it if you want to help your kids understand themselves better and navigate the journey to productive adulthood lives and careers.
Or read it simply to get an insider-view of career paths and why people make the decisions and choose the paths that they do.
An excellent, thought-provoking book from a positive and empowering perspective!

Quiet strength in a noisy world
Gabriela Casineanu is an award-winning author whose best-selling books about introverts have helped thousands of readers, world-wide, gain a clearer, stronger sense of their own potential. Her latest book, Quiet Lessons for the Introvert’s Soul, takes that inquiry into personal well-being to a deeper, more powerful level.

We all know how extroverts would go about writing a book like this—confidently proclaiming (in BOLD TYPE): “Five Proven Steps to Ensure Lifetime Success!” “The 8 Secrets of Perfect Relationships!” “Seven Ways You Sabotage Your Own Happiness and How to Fix It!” Extroverts, typically, are confident that they have the answer to your problems—and don’t mind telling you.

Casineanu’s “quiet lessons” are, instead, about reflective discovery—allowing the truth to emerge naturally from within. The book contains interviews with 11 introverts from a dozen countries. Each of the people whose stories come richly to life in this book faced and overcame difficult personal and professional challenges by drawing on strengths they initially didn’t know they possessed. To varying degrees, each needed to question their own limiting beliefs and to learn to see themselves as valuable, strong people in their own right—rather than as flawed, imperfect copies of extroverts. At the end of each interview, Casineanu highlights the strengths each interviewee discovered in his or her journey. She concludes with her own experience of self-discovery. Casineanu calls these accounts “Introvert’s Hero Journeys”—and she’s right. I found the stories powerfully moving and thought-provoking.

This is not a book to rush through. Its purpose—and value—is in the insights that emerge for readers (introverts and extroverts) as they engage each story and then reflect on their own lives.

What also struck me was that the characteristic “introvert” strengths brought out in this book, like listening, respecting different viewpoints, acting with integrity and authenticity, working collaboratively towards shared goals, are desperately needed in the fearful, angry, and intolerant world we now struggle to live in. In a noisy world, perhaps we all need to tune into the quieter lessons of our souls.

LIFE TRANSFORMING!
Did you know that introverts are big thinkers? Well, me neither! I found this book life transforming. The list of positive attributes for introverts is ENORMOUS! We all know about the negative ones such as nerd, wallflower and all those negative connotations. Time to embrace your introvert-ness! I don't know if this is a legit word or not and don't really care. Embrace being an introvert, it's cool, it's hip and the author is educating us all about our (hidden?) talents.
A game changer for me.

Quiet Introvert strength!
I enjoy reading Gabriela Casineau’s books and this one did not book disappoint. The book has many interviews that the author did with introverts in getting their insight and thoughts on their strengths. Being introvert myself it was easy for me to identify with many of the stories shared. There are many lessons and wisdom that was shared. I learned that I can be my quiet self while I pursue my dreams without having to pretend to be someone I'm not. Highly recommend this book!

Insightful information for both introverts and extroverts.
I’m not an introvert but Gabriela’s book made me see the world through the eyes of one. It gave me insight on how to recognize an introvert and be considerate when reaching out.

Enlightening interviews!!!
This book is a series of interviews of introverts discussing their challenges and how they overcame them. These stories are inspiring and especially thought-provoking as the interviewees are from all walks of life and yet found ways to use the traits of an introvert to their benefit. Readers of this book will learn the strengths of an introvert and how they can succeed in any environment

I absolutely love this book! I especially treasure the author’s takeaways at the end of each interview. As an introvert myself, I can identify with so many! I so appreciate how she made the connections between what has been said and how this applies to other introverts. These valuable chapters of exploration help us understand, appreciate and further develop our own unique strengths.
What a true gift this book is, both to introverts as well as those seeking to learn more about them.

A self-inspection kit for introverts! This book keeps one spellbound as you read and learn from different introverts. Each found ways to flourish in a world seemingly designed for extroverts. The author’s notes highlight strengths often overlooked by the introverts themselves.
Being part of the book was a great exercise in self-awareness. Casineanu has great intuition, distills essential truths and her focus on solutions is remarkable.
An insightful and thought-provoking book designed to bring out the inner strengths of introverts!
