With this book, you find yourself addicted more and more with each chapter. Krista is recently out of a relationship and looking forward to her upcoming trip to London for the summer. She's drawn to go there and so she plans her trip through a tour guide company to see the most of the areas she'd like.
Upon arriving she is escorted by Peter, a friend of her actual guide that has had to cover because Aaron (her tour guide) is currently visiting his sick mother, Kate.
Peter takes her to Bourton-on-the-Water where she will stay in an apartment owned by Jane, Aaron's aunt. Before reading, I had never heard of Bourton. So imagine my surprise when in the past week I've dealt with parcels in that area through work *weird smile moment*.
While there she continues to dream and feel the emotions of Mary. Now, Mary drowned on a ship leaving from London to New York, that sunk about 100+ years ago.
These dreams started around the time her trip was planned. Her dreams seem to engulf her as she lives Mary's past and before she leaves for her trip and even while she is in Bourton, she visits a few mediums who confirm that she had once lived before and now she has tofind her Thomas, the love of her life.
The problem is, her Thomas doesn't quite remember. He has feelings for Krista, and feels the same as her in the short amount of time they've spent with each other, but can he recall as to why he does? Aaron is her Thomas.
That tour guide / client relationship quickly flies out the window, but there is one huge factor that halts that relationship and the re-joining of their souls. They live in different countries. This part had me hook, line and sinker! How would they do it? Could they do it?
And I would tell you, but i'm not. You'll have to read it to find out.
I love that the book gives away all the emotion and all that jazz without giving it away.
You know how they feel and what they do *winks* without the author actually describing it and that is amazing! Sandra did an amazing job with that.

Promised Soul is like no other book I have ever read. That is really refreshing. Just the thought of true love transcending time and space is amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the story of Krista and Aaron and more importantly Marie and Thomas. This gives me hope that we all have a soulmate out there. Simply put Promised Soul is an inspiration to all.

Memories of a past life and a love so strong, of separation and devastation. This tugged at the heart strings, you could feel the pain and anguish between Thomas and Mary. Their story was bittersweet, Mary's parents had no wish for their daughter to marry the son of a farmer, he was below them in their eyes. It was decided they would leave sail from England to a new life, leaving behind the love of Mary's life, leaving Thomas.

How do you cope with dreams like this? do you just shrug them off as having a vivid imagination? Do you try to read some meaning into it? Do you begin a search to discover why these dreams haunt you?

Krista, a school-teacher was plagued by these dreams, they started off with just small pieces of information of memories, but soon the dreams were so vivid she could see their faces, hear their voices, but more strangely she could see Mary in the steamy reflection on the mirror after showering. Determined to find out what is behind the dreams she questions herself, her sanity, she seeks help from psychics.

Obviously she cannot put her life on hold whilst she searches for her answers, but the pull of England draws her and she takes a holiday there, away from her friends, family and work. She wants to sight-see, take tours, so she books a tour guide to take her on excursions around England, the tour guide is Aaron. Her arrival in the UK starts off with Aaron's partner Peter collecting her at the airport, and taking her to her accommodation he explains Aaron has some family crisis to deal with. .

You will meet many characters in this story who will charm you and make you smile, but will being in a strange country make Krista homesick? Will she find the answers she seeks? Believe me when I say this book is fantastic, you will not want to put it down.

I loved reading this story and I hope you guys will love it as well. Krista ( I love her name because one my good friends has it as well) has a recurring dream about a woman named Mary and a man named Thomas. Her dreams are in depth and makes you all in different types of feels. At the beginning you could feel your heart tug a bit (maybe because I am just a big crybaby but seriously) because of the separation with the scene on the boat. After reading that part I knew that I would have a lot of "Awe" moments. It was so bittersweet.

Krista has plans to go to London and she books a tour guide to sight see and take tours. Aaron whom she has been communicating with while planning sends Peter to collect her and get her settled in. With the dreams still in affect they become more vivid and she looks for answers.

This is story has adventure, separation, and a bit of devastation but I promise it is not the kind that makes you afraid to turn the page. The writing was good. It was well thought out and as I said before it gets you all in the feels.

A sense of romanticism runs throughout this warm and well-written first novel from Sandra Jackson. The character of Krista is very likable as are those who inhabit the pages of this very readable narrative about love across time. No one has ever reached the bar Robert Nathan set in the 1930s and 1940s for this type of story, but those enamored of more recent excursions into this ethereal type of love, such as Somewhere in Time, will no doubt gobble this up, and for good reason!

Krista has been having dreams all her life, which are actually memories; memories of Mary, and her Thomas, tragic figures whose love may not have ended at death. When she travels to London, she has no idea that someone there has been having dreams as well. But destiny takes a circuitous route when she first meets Peter. He has been sent by Aaron to be her tour guide, because he is tied up with other clients. This serpentine route toward souls fated to be together doesn’t become tedious due to the author’s storytelling ability and the warmth instilled in her characters. It does take the reader longer to get there than I would have liked, as stories of this nature are best captured in novelette or novella length, such as Robert Nathan penned. However, this may be somewhat of a male perspective. I have no doubt most female readers will love that Promised Soul is a novel, affording them more time to bask in a romantic world where two souls destined to love forever might have a chance, if they can meet, and remember.

There is a bit of back and forth between Krista’s remembrances of herself as Mary, and the present. It is not enough to become a distraction, however, and it adds to the narrative being played out. A notebook Krista keeps, recounting her life as Mary plays a role here as well. I did become confused once, when near the end Krista allows someone to read the notebook, because I thought she already had. Because I had my wife download to her Kindle (I choose not to own one) it was simply too fiddly to go back and try to clear up if I’d misunderstood something, as I would have had I picked up the paperback. It was very minor, however, and may have been my misunderstanding. The conclusion and epilog is quite lovely and very satisfying for those who’ve taken the journey.

Written well and fairly engrossing, the audience at which the book is aimed will find much to like here, and possibly some things they’ll love. Technically, it was nearly bereft of the typos and such so often found in books nowadays. Most novels from major publishing houses have two or three, and this fell within that range, I believe. If I have a caveat, it is a very minor one. For the first half of the book, I would come across — rarely, perhaps once per chapter — a sentence where a comma was used, where I felt a semicolon, or even a period would have served better. It was just a minor blip when I read, and a rare one. In fact, I would say that it was only because the book was so well-written, that it was noticeable at all. My other extremely minor caveat is that while I sensed the excitement of the character being in London, the author missed a few chances to place the reader there, and add background color. Peter takes Krista to see some lovely sights outside of London, for instance, but we’re only told that they went there, with little description — or more importantly, Krista’s reaction to them, which would transfer the reader there, adding a bit of color.

Overall, however, this is a very enjoyable read in a romantic sub-genre. Because this type of narrative does not lend itself to scenes of intimacy, the author has smartly kept this on a kissing and hand-holding romantic level for readers, while not making it too maudlin. It’s always a good sign for a first novel to be this good, and this one is definitely that. Highly recommended for those who like a clean and involving romance. A solid four stars for me, but possibly five from the audience at whom the book is aimed.

I loved it so much, when I first read this story on wattpad I couldn't believe that this story hasn't been published yet and when she did decide to publish this story I reached out to her asked if I could write a review for this story on my book review blog. She emailed me the free pdf version of the book in exchange for an honest review and it was more then fair exchange. I have read the story multiple times since then and it's still remains one of my favorite story.
