Poison in the Pond by DL Richardson is a great short story, perfect for filling in a couple of spare hours. Right from page one, I was pulled into the story and it just got better and better as it moved along. This is an all-action story, very deep and dark with a few excellent twists in it. This is horror, romance and the paranormal all rolled into one and the pace never lets up all the way through. The ending is great and it’s one of those stories that will stay with you for a long time. The characters are excellent, all developed perfectly, even the imaginary friend, and I found myself rooting for them all the way through. To start with, the title confused me but it did become clear, very cleverly, just what the poison in the pond is. Great story, and I would love to read more from this author.
