Zaneta Varnado Johns is sincerely grateful for the privilege of sharing her heartfelt poetry. Her anthology, Poetic Forecast: Reflections on Life's Promises, Storms, and Triumphs is deeply personal, and you may well find at least one or two poems in this collection that will appeal to your senses and intellect. She opens with the statement: 'I believe that every word shared is an opportunity for love. And with that, you treat yourself to a therapeutic reading experience.' Her poems offer a broad range of emotional and mental comfort that helps to lift you in these turbulent times. Her work pays homage to the important people in her life. Her poems encompass many feelings in the emotional spectrum, especially love, healing, nostalgia, hope, and dreams.
These verses are raw expressions of her thoughts and feelings that reflect her attunement to her inner self. Reading one of her entries called 'What Matters,' for example, comprises what-if questions that are directly addressed to the reader. Her imagery and ideas create a meaningful look at the condition of contemporary life. Zaneta Varnado Johns uses poetry as a springboard for deep philosophical discussions about human nature and gives a humble discourse about her own identity. As for her poetic structure, there is a precise rhythm and pacing to the work. Some poems rhyme while others do not, but she maintains the rhythm by utilizing syntax. In essence, Poetic Forecast appeals to a general audience seeking refuge and comfort from the pressures of modern life that have become an existence rather than living for most.
