Pippin No Drippin’ (Pippin The Cat Series) written by Layne Ihde and illustrated by Linda Pierce is a children’s animal book that would appeal most to an audience of children and parents who enjoy creative stories featuring animal characters. This is the second book in the series featuring Pippin the cat. Poor Pippin is disappointed when a rainy day leaves him unable to climb trees or run around outside. Pippin quickly asks his mother for permission to use his electronic devices, only for her to suggest using his imagination to come up with something else to do. Her advice sparks Pippin to set off on an indoor one-cat band creative adventure. Will Pippin be able to find everything he needs inside to have a fun time in his own band or will he be left longing for the sun and his electronic devices?
Pippin No Drippin’ (Pippin The Cat Series) by Layne Ihde is an adorable book with cute pictures and a lesson-filled story that will easily appeal to young children. This is a relevant book for kids as it tackles the idea that electronic devices are not the only way for a child to have a fun time indoors. I feel that not only is it a great lesson for kids to learn but that they would actually enjoy learning it alongside Pippin. The author did a great job with word choices as the words are all easily understandable by young children and the illustrations provide great context clues for beginner readers. Very enjoyable!
