Christmas was only days away and the year-and-a-half-old brindle Pit Bull, Pickle, was cozy in the dog bed that was too small for him. It was another lonely night in the Wahow County Humane Society in Skipidee, Florida. Though he had made some furry friends there, Pickle was sad. He thought about the warm and comfortable home he had lived in before along with Mom and Dad who had bought him as a present for nine-year-old Sabrina and seven-year-old Scott. They had treated him with love and taught him a lot. Things changed when Oodles, the Labradoodle puppy, came to their neighbor's house. Sabrina and Scott fell in love with Oodles and lost interest in Pickle and they took him back to the shelter. Though many visitors came to the Humane Society, no one was interested in taking Pickle home. A cat named Skinz arrives at the shelter because her owner Sasha thought she was not cool anymore. Together they manage to escape from the shelter. Let's join them and see what they are up to!
Pickle Meets Skinz by Lynn Davis is a story about love, kindness, and friendship, and shows humans how important it is to take care of their pets at home and be kind to them. Mirjana Segan brings the story to life and gives the characters a personality of their own with her lively and wonderful illustrations. It is a beautiful storybook for children who love pets. They will also learn to love and accept others for what they are through the story of Pickle and Skinz. It is a good storybook for tutors and parents to read aloud to children to help them understand love, kindness, and acceptance, and lead happy and fun-filled lives. The story is inspiring and uplifting, and the author's fluidity in expression gives a good pace and movement to the story. The different sets of humans and animals in the story offer readers lessons about life in a fun and entertaining way, making it easy for youngsters to understand the messages properly.
