Philly and Friends: Who Do I See in the Mirror? by Vese Aghoghovbia Aladewolu is a beautiful storybook with a good message that will teach youngsters about self-love and self-acceptance. The little girl in the story is looking in the mirror and she loves her curly locks. The little girl has a cute button nose and she likes the way it flares when she laughs. She loves everything about herself; the way her lips move when she smiles, the color of her skin, her tummy, and the expression in her eyes. The little girl likes her brown face and brown legs, and she knows she is a combination of everything. That is what makes her unique, different, and special. She knows what matters most is not how she looks but what is inside her heart.
This story conveys the concept of self-love and self-acceptance in a wonderful way and Irene Omiunu breathes life into the little girl and her actions with delightful illustrations that make it easy for youngsters to comprehend the author's words. It is very important for children to accept themselves for who they are and the little girl in the story shows them how to appreciate everything they have in a happy and positive way. It teaches them that what is most important is to have a good heart. This is definitely a lovely book for parents and tutors to read aloud to children and make them comfortable and happy with who they are.
