Perspective Globs: 36 Photos and 36 Thoughts is a collection of photographs and writings by Starry Tent. Drawing inspiration from her own life, Tent gifts readers with some beautifully written pieces that include poems, motivational quotes, memoir-filled verses, and much more. Accompanying each piece is a photograph that perfectly encapsulates the relevant subject matter and adds some complementary color to it. There is a wide spectrum of ideas, thoughts, and themes that the poems and verses delve into, mostly related to the bittersweet nature of life and how everything changes over time. Tent also includes three haiku poems in the book, each named after three separate seasons, signifying the passage of time and how life always has its shares of ups and downs, and rarely ever does it stay in stasis.
An inspirational and thoroughly refreshing look at the eternal change that encompasses life, Perspective Globs is a unique work that poetry lovers will gobble up with relish. Starry Tent experiments widely with narrative styles, be it abstract, traditional verses, or using haiku poems to demonstrate the parallels between the changing seasons and the course of a person's life. Despite sharing similar themes and ideas, each poem or piece offers something unique. Tent's personal touch adds another layer of depth to the verses, and you find yourself pondering the meaning behind each phrase or verse long after you've read it. Although I enjoyed them all, "The Wisdom of Cats" and "Nostalgia" were two of my personal favorites. I highly recommend it to poetry lovers.
