Pistachio is a beautiful two-year-old Golden Retriever that belongs to Luke and Lucy. The Clark parents always shout at the twins because of her and they are forever asking the kids to take care of Pistachio. In Parents for Sale: Story and Coloring Book by Dr. Nicole Audet, the Clark parents summon their kids and tell them that they have decided to sell Pistachio. The kids promise their mother that they will take care of Pistachio and beg her to give them one chance.
The Clarks have already put up a board on the front lawn saying that they will sell Pistachio to a family that can raise her well. When their parents go out, Luke and Lucy replace the board, which now shows ‘Parents for Sale’. The children decide to sell their parents to the fairy of orphans. As soon as Luke and Lucy sell their parents, the fairy transforms into a witch and tells them that she is going to eat their parents. She flies away from the house, taking the entire Clark family and Pistachio hanging from her broom. Will they get saved?
The story is a fun and entertaining read and I liked the author’s idea of have coloring illustrations in the book. Children will love the adventure and magic and will enjoy coloring the illustrations. It is a fun book for interactive sessions in classrooms and school libraries and coloring the illustrations will reveal each child’s imagination and creativity when it comes to coloring and choosing colors. It is a good book for story-telling sessions at home too, as parents can keep their children engrossed in the story by making them color the illustrations.
